End of semester project in the second year of architectural studies, as part of the digital production course, we were asked to produce a machine that combines the techniques we learned in the course throughout the year (laser cutting, 3D printing, Arduino and CNC)

OUR Research

Our Drawing Robot powered by Arduino have emerged as an exciting intersection of art and technology. This machine combine the precision and creativity of human artists with the precision and consistency of robotic arms. By harnessing the power of Arduino microcontrollers, these drawing robots can execute complex movements, producing intricate and mesmerizing artwork

The Robot is inspired by a 3D printer or a CNC machine that works on x y z axes and makes drawings or sketches

We came up with this idea following the architecture degree we are studying and we thought that if there was a machine that could draw manual plans/sections at the scale we want,

The machine can draw on pages up to A3 size

The Drawing Robot takes two weekends to build, it takes about 20 hours of 3D printing to produce the parts.

The cost of building the Drawing Robot with its parts is between 250-300 NIS
The price of it online is about 1300 NIS.

Techniques and machines we used are 3D printing in 3D printers to build the parts of the machine and an Arduino to program the machine's software.
